Menthol and Flavored Cigar Ban

May 25, 2021

On April 29th of this year (2021) the FDA announced that it would be proposing tobacco product standards to ban menthol as a flavor additive in cigarettes and ban all flavors (including menthol) in cigars. Per the FDA website they are including not just standard cigars, but cigarillos as well with their proposed legislation. They have not clarified if this would stretch to tobacco leaf wraps or even non-tobacco based papers and wraps at this time. By law they have to open this up to a public comment period before they implement legislation. We will keep you informed here of when that public comment period begins. We will also provide a preformed letter so that your voice can be heard with minimal effort. The letter can be forwarded to the FDA and all appropriate representatives as soon as that period opens.
